Aims

The aim of this practical is to provide you with the opportunity to study human placental structure, and to examine mammalian comparative placental structure. Specifically, you will be able to examine:

  • The Boyd collection of pregnant hysterectomy specimens, available at the CTR, which provides a unique set of placenta in situ specimens of different gestational ages
  • Comparative aspects of mammalian placentology, using a range of mammalian placenta slides
